Much Ado About Sports Drafts: Could they work in the teaching profession?

I’ve been fascinated by all of the excitement, hand-wringing, energy and anticipation that has surrounded the recent NHL and NBA drafts. Young players, still objects of intense speculation…old veterans, their worth proven and their agency free and easy. Spending caps donned, contracts prepared, pencils sharpened. It’s a time of hope, of visioning and dreaming.

I wonder, asĀ  I close out another day, what it might be like if we were to institute a draft in the teaching profession.

That’s all…a type of conceptual placeholder. I’ll return to this thought tomorrow, but if you wanted to jump in with some of your own, feel free!
